Melissa Szot Joins Marks Paneth Government Practice
March 12, 2018New York, NY (March 12, 2018) – Top 100 accounting, tax and advisory firm Marks Paneth LLP, has announced the addition of Melissa Szot, CPA, CGMA, as a Senior Manager in the firm’s government practice. Szot joins the firm’s established team of professionals providing audit, compliance and advisory services for governmental organizations on the local, county and federal level.
Prior to joining Marks Paneth, Szot planned and conducted government and nonprofit audits at both national and regional public accounting firms. Her specialty areas include municipal audits, SSEA 18 internal control audits, federal government compliance audits, single audits for municipal and membership organizations, and New York State cost reporting requirements.
Szot also serves as a member of the Special Review Committee for the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) where she reviews applications for the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting (CAFR) program.
